No, Hires Big H is not open for dine in yet. But they do have car hop service.
Nah. Just the best burgers and fries in town.
Great food but the company is terrible. My husband worked, in fact was overworked at this job. When trying to cut down hours, they tried to dock his pay and the owner, an LDS bishop, tried to use that in coercing Kyle to stay, they lied about us and tried to give a false report when we were just trying to get some paperwork filled out. Very much in violation of workers and employment rights. They threatened our first review of this experience, that they wouldn't fill out that paperwork until we took that first review down, so I did, and then I said, I'll just put up another review later after they fill out that paperwork, because public beware of this badly managed restaurant. Our family used to have our family Christmas parties there, and won't now because of this. There are better jobs than this one, so if you're looking for a job, go elsewhere.
Came here today for my First Time. I ordered the Cherry Limeade & Big Hires Burger, with fries. Their fries are good if you like them softer. I personally like a crispy outside & soft inside.. So, I was unimpressed. The Burger was good. If I were to choose to come here again I'd add pickles. I liked that they used more of a nacho cheese on it, gives you that yummy Cheddar flavor.. Otherwise it wasn't very flavorful. The Cherry Limeade was also, okay.. I expect a nice combination of the sweet, rich cherry & the sour of the Lime.. This was sour, but lost the yummy sweetness, I was looking for.My big bro constantly boasts about this place and I got that burger cravin; said "what the hell, why not." Not disappointed, not Impressed. Would save myself the few extra miles & go to Woodys.
This place is an institution, and for good reason. I've been enjoying their tasty burgers and thick shakes since I was knee high to a grasshopper. My kids loved it tonight, too, so we will keep the tradition going!
Go for the Root beer and stay for the burgers. This is a classic burger place if I have ever seen one. The wait staff is super quick and friendly and the food is great! If you like good root beer this place has the best around and that's what they are known for I really enjoyed my date night.
Old fashion Cafe style. Excellent food. Their home made root beer is great. Service was a little slow
The best service and veggie burgers in town.
Horrible. I was charged $27 for a Big H, Jr Big H, small cheese fries and a root beer float. According to the menu it should gave been about $16.50. When I called to bring the error to their attention, their response was I got a discount. Unvelievable!!
Some of the best burgers and fries in the valley. Shakes good. Lime Rickey the best. Ham and cheese sandwich good. Veggie burgers surprising. Worth while. Great early 60s feel. Great service.
Avoid this place. Fries are horrible - Soggy, ill prepared, and under cooked. Order was wrong (asked for a chili cheese dog, received an aluminum tray filled with chili cheese, some bread.). Prices are as high as some of the much better burger restaurants in the immediate area. Family of 4 $50 If you are looking for quick, pick one of the chain restaurants, if you are looking for quality, go to hoppers, bohemian, Landmark grill, or any of the others in the area.
Love the burgers here and its awesome they have vegetarian options as well!
Best place to get a burger and the onion rings so delicious. My husband and I have a lunch date every friend here and never fails to be the best place. Staff is always amazing
We went here for lunch. Service was good. Our waitress was very nice and looked like she was working hard. I thought my burger was just okay. Nothing special or great about it. My niece got chicken strips, and those were great. If we go here again,I wouldn't get a burger. I'd try something else.
Do you want to go out for a burger? Do you want to go out for a good burger? Do you want to go out for an exceptionally good burger? Then you definitely want to go to hires. The turkey sandwich with cranberries it's pretty darn amazing too. And none of those top a root beer freeze. It is the best concoction known to humankind. They're perfectly beautiful with just the right zing of vanilla root beer mixed with soft serve ice cream and refrozen to a perfect taste of the slopes of Heaven, that is where the root beer freeze takes you. Would I recommend this restaurant? Most assuredly the environment feeling like a 50s Burger Joint, just adds to the overall enjoyment of the experience. Go. Go again. And keep going to show her support for one of the best local restaurant chains in the world.
Not sure what all the hype is about. Decent food and decent service. Wasn't mad that I went, but probably won't go back.
While this is one of the best burgers for this type of setting, you are going to pay a lot for them. I especially love the Danish H. It is fairly high quality food and you get quite a bit. But for the price of the meal you can afford a decent meal at a nice sit down restaurant.
THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. THEY HAVE THE BEST FRYS IN UTAH STATE. WELL EVERYTHING ON THE MENU SOUNDS GREAT. I GIVE THE STAFF THE MOST STARS I CAN GIVE THEM. THEY ARE VERY KIND AND POLITE. DON'T BE PICKY PEOPLE PLEASE TRY THEM AT LEAST ONCE. I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. THANK YOU HIRES BIG H AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
Great homemade buns. Great size fries and onion rings. Moist hamburger meat
The military has brought me all over the United States & this place is hands down the best burger joint in the country. They have the freshest ingredients possible – buns, burger patties, garnishments, ...etc. are all made locally. Each morning before opening they cut their onions, make their fries...everything. It’s prepared day of. I never liked “fry sauce” until Hires. Their sauce is incredible.Hires has the best taste, freshness, & overall deliciousness. They can’t be beat. I eat here EVERY time I come to Utah.
Litza pizza is the best. Overall it's the best pizza in Utah. I recommend the half and half with ham and pineapple on one side and sausage and mushroom on the other side. The garlic bread is very tasty and the root beer is refreshing. The limeade is refreshing too. I also recommend the patty melt with provolone from hires. I highly recommend to any one into 50s and 60s music and the best food.
Service can be slow if you come at peak times. I like the cranberry turkey sandwich, but be warned it can be a little soggy (mayo+canned cranberry jelly). Burgers aren't bad, but nothing special.
Love their food. Raspberry shake was over the top
Food was amazing. Prices were steep. I felt I paid way too much for what we ordered and was never offered a receipt. Kinda weird. Paid more than the usual bill at a sit down place like olive garden or Texas roadhouse.
Delicious burger and peanutbutter milkshake. The service was quick and friendly and the space was clean. The kids loved their grub
Great burgers done right. The service was great. The chili cheese fries were too smothered to make any assessment in taste.
Yummy. This place is the real deal. Go get you a hires big H and a rootbeer float then pinch yourself to make sure your still alive. Other great burgers and sandwiches. I hope you like onion rings! Fries? It's all so good.
Big H with Cherry Dr Pepper. Yummmm
This place is the best place for hamburgers hands down. Their fries and onion rings are also to die for! It’s got that cute old time diner feel too to complete the whole experience. Seriously it’s my favorite place to eat in Utah.
Staff was exceptional in their care and service even though our band got there 8 minutes before closing extremely hungry after our gig. As always the Big H and the O rings were outstanding. Well done and thanks!!! Ophir Creek 😁👍
Hires... Can't go wrong
My Grand kids love this place. I love the Diet Homemade Rootbeer. Burgers and Pizza fun atmosphere. Real car hop as well.
Downtown location is so much better. I’m not sure what this location has going on but they take 10x longer for just 2 orders of cheese fries. I’ve tried them twice now and each time they take forever, and this time I barely had any cheese on my cheese fries. Other location covers them and layers them like pros, and they’re quick. The first time I came in I got the veggie burger and it was so soggy I didn’t even eat a1/3 of it. If you have the time downtown location rocks it.
Great burgers and fries 🍔🍟 just like it was your very first time 😊👍
Great food- would recommend the shakes
Greatest Hamburger place in all of Utah. We have been going to Hires since forever literally when they first opened. . Best Hamburgers, best fry sauce, best Brownies and Litza pizza is amazing as well. My entire family loves Hires. We visit everytime we travel back to Utah. Thanks for offering such delicious food. And the staff is also amazing. Down to earth kind humans work here. Family friendly and forevermore my family's most favorite Hamburger Joint in all of Utah.
The roller skates may be gone, but it is still the food you remember brought to your car. And the music is better than going inside (grin).
Familiar and comforting. As always.
Fries look like it’s been sitting in oil for 1 month. Also food is way overpriced
Good burger, phoney turkey on sandwich and the products were over priced.
If you're looking for a healthy veggie burger, this is the place. Hires makes their own veggie burger and it tastes great. Each sandwich is sold separately and you can add fries and a drink for extra. Veggie burger is made with carrots, broccoli, green peppers, celery, mushrooms, brown rice, red wheat, rye, oats, barley, and sunflower seeds. The onion rings are super fresh with a light and crispy batter. Hires is known for their homemade root beer. They serve it in a frosty mug and endless refills. You can purchase their syrups and they do picnic baskets. Order a picnic basket full of burgers, sides, pick up, and head to the park nearby. Service is great and speedy. Love this local spot. Its been a favorite since 1959.
Our family has loved this place for many years. We went here again last night and our food came out so fast! It was fresh and the staff is wonderful.
We have been coming here for 30 years and it’s delicious! However, it’s now way too expensive for what they serve and it’s pricing us out of coming consistently. We will go a couple of times per year versus at least once a month, which is too bad.
Be prepared to wait and wait and wait and wait, while the staff of 8 sweeps the floor or talks to one another, or just twiddles their thumbs. Really I'm not sure what their doing, but they are not cleaning the tables or taking orders. It's a burger joint that is not interested in serving burgers apparently.
Hires is still a great hamburger after 60 years of being in business. But they have so much more! Shakes, floats, salads, ruben sandwiches, plus many more menu items.
Great pizza and soda! Definitely got to try their pizza here at less once. Its amazing!
I have been here many times through the years (and also the 4th south location) The food and service is good. $15 for a burger, rings and drink for one person is a little steep!! (Jr big H, 32 ounce drink, and onion rings).
I have been going to Hires longer than I can remember. I love the fries and root beer floats. Thanks for your continued great service.
Really good burgers, fries and shakes! A fun old fashioned diner. I would say the peanut butter shake is very peanut butter-y. But overall a good experience. Not to expensive, but a fun place to meet up with friends or family in the area.
Friendly service and delicious food! Hires has been a long time family favorite and we have never been disappointed going there!
They have diet Dr pepper, they still need sugar free desserts.
